What Is 4-Isopropyl-3-methylphenol
4-Isopropyl-3-methylphenol /IPMP, also known as o-cymen-5-ol, is an antimicrobial agent and disinfectant. Structurally, it consists of a phenol ring substituted with an isopropyl group and a methyl group. IPMP appears as a white to pale yellow crystalline powder; it is slightly soluble in water but readily dissolves in organic solvents such as ethanol and propylene glycol. Capable of extending product shelf life, IPMP is widely used as an antimicrobial and preservative in the personal care, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and household product industries, with a maximum allowable addition level of 0.1%.

Acne creams, toners, serums, facial creams, shampoos, and shower gels; Recommended dosage: 0.05%–0.1% (maximum limit of 0.1% as per national standards).
