Application
1.Dermatology / Skincare
Acne Treatment
Inhibits Cutibacterium acnes (formerly P. acnes), regulates follicular keratinization, and exerts anti-inflammatory effects. Common formulations include 15% gel and 20% cream; recommended for topical use by the Chinese Guidelines for Acne Treatment.
Whitening & Mark Fading
Selectively inhibits tyrosinase in abnormal melanocytes to fade acne marks, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and melasma. Its irritation potential is significantly lower than that of tretinoin or high-concentration AHAs.
Oil Control & Soothing
Inhibits 5α-reductase to reduce sebum secretion. Suitable for oily, acne-prone skin and as adjunctive care for rosacea.

1. Hair Care Industry (Core Application)
● Cold Wave Lotions / Perm Solutions: Softens hair keratin and reshapes disulfide bonds to achieve permanent curling; serves as the core reducing agent in cold perms.
● Hair Straightening Creams / Relaxers: Cleaves disulfide bonds to soften hair, working in conjunction with neutralizers to achieve permanent straightening.
● Depilatory Creams / Lotions: Softens body hair keratin to facilitate easy removal; the preferred choice for mild depilatory products.
● Recommended Concentration: 5%–15% for perming/straightening; 2%–8% for depilatory use.
2. Industrial & Other Fields
● Metal Corrosion Inhibition: Forms a protective FeS film in high-temperature brine/completion fluids to inhibit carbon steel corrosion (140–200℃).
● Chemical Analysis: Used as a masking agent and reducing agent for the photometric determination of ions such as iron, aluminum, silver, and tin.
● Material Modification: Serves as a thiolating agent for the preparation of adsorption materials and functional polymers.
