Magnesium Myristate (also known as Magnesium Tetradecanoate) is a high-performance metallic soap used as a cosmetic and industrial auxiliary. Defined by its core characteristics of slippery skin feel, strong adhesion, and excellent hydrophobicity, it serves as a key multifunctional ingredient in the fields of color cosmetics, powder processing, and pharmaceuticals.
Main Application Areas
1. Cosmetics (Primary Application)
Powder Compacts / Loose Powder / Face Powder:
Usage: 2%~5% (for pressed powder), 5%~10% (for loose powder).
Function: Binder, anti-caking agent, provides slip, and improves makeup longevity.
Eyeshadow / Blush / Highlighter:
Function: Enhances color payoff and adhesion, provides water resistance, and ensures a smooth, easy-to-blend texture.
Foundation / Concealer (Creams / Sticks):
Function: Improves spreadability, provides a matte oil-control finish, and ensures waterproof, long-lasting wear.
Mascara / Eyeliner:
Function: Waterproofing, anti-smudging, and increases the smoothness of the paste.
Solid Perfume / Antiperspirant Sticks:
Function: Solidifying agent (structuring) and provides a lubricious skin feel.
2. Pharmaceutical Industry
Used as a lubricant and glidant for tablets and capsules. It functions similarly to Magnesium Stearate but offers superior slip.
Improves the glossy appearance of pills and reduces sticking to punches (sticking).
